Barbara
Erskine, President and owner of Sunset Title, Inc.,
began working in the real estate related fields
since she was 16 years old and worked after school
hours with a real estate attorney in Hollywood,
Florida.
After
getting married and taking some time off to have three
children, she went to the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo,
Florida, where she helped to found and became President
of Charter Title Company, Inc., Charter Mortgage and
Financial Services, Inc. and Charter Group, Inc., a
property management organization.
In 1985 she
started her own company, Erskine Title Company, and
acquired Sunset Title, Inc., (the business as well as
the name) from Jim Molans in 1990. She is active in
and has served as a committee chair or officer many
trade organizations.
Estrella Diaz
Estrella
Diaz has been involved in the title insurance industry
since 1983. She has been employed at Sunset Title, Inc.,
since 1997 as Closing Coordinator.
Prior to that,
she was with National Title Insurance Company where she
began her career in the name search department (before
computers were used to do name searches). She also worked
in the abstracting department, order desk, storage department,
and as an abstractor doing title searches. After 10 years
in that department, she worked in the closing department
as a mortgage processor and closing coordinator and closer.
Ana Torres
Ana
Torres has held her position with Sunset Title, Inc. since
early 2005, as a pre-closer, readying all files for closing,
as well as a post closer preparing title insurance policies
and recorded documents to be sent to buyers and lenders
Prior to
that, she was in the post-closing department of North
American Title Insurance Company for approximately three
years.
James A.
Molans
Jim,
the founder of Sunset Title, Inc., is still closely associated
with Sunset Title, Inc. He maintains offices in the same
space and performs title examinations, assists with closings,
and is our legal advisor.
Jim has been
a practicing attorney since 1967. He graduated Cum Laude
from the University of Miami in 1964 and its law school
in 1967. Following three years of active duty in the
Judge Advocate General Corps of the United States Navy,
he returned to Dade County and has continually practiced
here since 1972. He specializes in structuring and closing
real estate, mortgage loan and business transactions,
and has supervised and conducted thousands of real estate
mortgage loan closings.
From 1983 to
1990, he served as President of Sunset Title, Inc.,
and served as closing agent for most of the prominent
mortgage lenders in Dade County, and was a member and
officer of many local trade organizations. His law practice
consists of sophisticated residential and commercial
real estate transactions, as well as wills, probate,
mediations, and corporate preparations. He can be reached
